From Garage to Wedding Reception Venue: A Glow-in-the-Dark Transformation Like No Other
Amenia, NY 12501 · See our Amenia, NY service area
When these homeowners first contacted us, they had a very special vision. Their child's wedding was approaching, and they wanted to transform their 2,000-square-foot garage into a stunning reception venue where family and friends could celebrate one of life's biggest moments.
The challenge? Most companies were hesitant to take on the project and weren't willing to provide samples that would allow the homeowners to truly see, touch, and experience the final product before making a decision.
That's where we do things differently.
We believe confidence comes from seeing the process firsthand. Rather than simply talking about possibilities, we created physical samples so the homeowners could visualize exactly how their dream floor would look and feel. That commitment to detail and transparency gave them the confidence to trust us with one of the most important projects their family would ever undertake.
Preparing the Perfect Canvas
With the wedding date approaching, our team got to work.
The first step was mechanically grinding the concrete to the industry-standard CSP-3 profile, creating the ideal surface for maximum adhesion. We then repaired every crack to ensure a seamless finish and prevent any product loss during installation.
Next, we applied a Moisture Vapor Barrier (MVB) to protect the system from potential moisture issues coming through the concrete slab. While preparing the floor, we discovered numerous imperfections left behind from the original concrete placement. To achieve the flawless finish the homeowners envisioned, we applied a grout coat over the MVB. This process filled surface imperfections, leveled the floor, and created the perfect canvas for the artistic portion of the installation.
Bringing the Design to Life
Then came the exciting part.
Our team carefully blended rich blue and green metallic pigments with a custom glow-in-the-dark UV additive. Using specialized application techniques, we strategically placed the materials throughout the floor to create a flowing, one-of-a-kind design. While no metallic epoxy floor can ever be duplicated exactly, we worked closely within the homeowners' desired color palette to bring their vision to life.
To complete the system, we applied a durable protective topcoat enhanced with aluminum oxide, providing superior traction and helping ensure guests could safely enjoy a night of dancing and celebration.
The Result
The final result exceeded everyone's expectations.
Not only were the homeowners amazed, but our entire team stood back in disbelief as the floor came to life. The vibrant blue and green effects, combined with the glow-in-the-dark elements, created an unforgettable visual experience unlike anything we had seen before. What started as a standard garage had been transformed into a breathtaking event space and a functional work of art that would serve as the backdrop for memories to last a lifetime.
From "just a garage" to an unforgettable wedding reception venue.
